On Monday 7th June 1999 I went to the GUILDHALL arts centre, Gloucester to see TONY ASHFORD'S JAZZWAVES. The band (who were performing in the Cinema room of the Guildhall) consisted of:-

• TONY ASHFORD - Saxophone
• TOMMY SCOTT - Piano
• PAUL SCOTT - Double Bass
• MILES LEVIN - Drums

They performed a mix of old Jazz tunes and new tunes, the new tunes being written by the band. My favourite track of the night was MIDNIGHT TANGO which was written by the Piano player TOMMY SCOTT who is only fifteen years old.

I was amazed at the maturity of the Piano playing and thought the Drum playing of MILES LEVIN was great too.

Although I enjoyed the performance, by the end I was nearly falling asleep, but then, what do you expect when you've been to gigs on five consecutive nights.
